Does my child have to be potty trained?
A child does not have to be completely potty trained to start preschool. The families must be actively working on potty training. We will work together to come up with a plan to best support successful potty training success.
Do you work on letters, numbers and shapes (Kindergarten readiness)?
Yes, we work on those skills through our daily curriculum as well as all aspects of assuring the child is developing in all developmental areas. The teachers use the Ohio Early Learning and Development Standards to gauge our planning and assessment for the children. School readiness includes social/emotional (being able to function in group and regulate emotions), approaches toward learning (being able to focus on activity and complete an activity despite distractions), and self help skills (being able to complete tasks independently such as potty time, dressing/undressing self, putting coat on/off, etc.
What is the discipline policy?
We use redirection to help children when they are having a difficult time. The teachers work to teach the children how to problem solve when conflicts arise. If children are disrupting the classroom and redirection and problem solving does not seem to be helping it may be necessary for them to take a break from the classroom and either a teacher or director will allow them time to gain composure before rejoining the class.
Do we have to attend or be members of the Meadow View Church of Christ?
Nope, enrollment is open to all!
How do you communicate with families?
We use an app called HiMama that provides a daily report to families which shares the snack they ate, photos and videos from the day, and any messages between home and school.
