Jude 1-4

There are many people in the religious world with deep convictions about their beliefs, but they are not in accordance with Biblical truth. They may have a part of “the Faith”, but not “the faith once delivered”. Jude writes this short letter to help keep the church from falling away from “the Faith”. What is “the Faith” we are to rally around, and as Jude writes, to contend for? Just what IS “the faith once delivered”?

I. Some obvious conclusions from verse 3:

A. “The Faith” has been “handed down” or “delivered” to us. – 2 Peter 1:20-21

B. “The Faith” is something “once for all” handed down.

C. “The Faith” is something that must be defended.

II. Other truths about “The Faith”:

A. “The Faith” is the body of truth (doctrine) that we believe in! It is what God has done!

B. To become a Christian, a person must FIRST know what God has done so he/she can properly respond to it! – Acts 16:27-34

C. The problem then and still today is that many do not want to hear about “The Faith”. – Isaiah 30:9-11

D. Knowing God through “The Faith” comes through factual knowledge, not an emotional experience. – Rom. 8:16; 1 Cor. 4:4

E. “The Faith”, as found in “God’s Word” (the Bible), must be our only guide to what we know and believe! – 2 Tim. 3:16-17; Rom. 3:3-4

“The Faith”, once for all delivered to the saints (which is every Christian in this world) is more powerful than anything the world has to offer and its truth can and will change lives! Is “The Faith” changing YOUR life?
